Course Description: Design Thinking, a close cousin of Human-Centered Design, serves to uncover innovative solutions that address customer pain points with precision and empathy. The method has some limits. This Design Thinking Training provides a modified framework for discovering new ideas, harnessing empathy correctly, and rapidly sketching to ideate transformative solutions. 

Course Highlights:

  1. Embracing Design Thinking 2.0: Review the Design Thinking Process and its connection with Human-Centered Design. Learn the pitfalls of Design Thinking. Explore how research-backed empathy can drive problem framing and ideation.

  2. Design Thinking team: Learn who to recruit for an effective Design Thinking team and gain strategies and tools to guide the team effecdtively.
  3. Discovering customer pain points: Master the art of identifying customer pain points through empathy-driven methodologies. Learn how to uncover underlying needs and aspirations.

  4. Rapid ideation: Learn rapid sketching and ideation, moving from empathy to innovative solutions. Create concepts that address identified pain points.

  5. Prioritizing interface decisions: Develop a systematic approach to prioritize and evaluate design solutions. Understand how to select and refine ideas that hold the most potential.

  6. Ethnographic Field Studies: Unlike typical Design Thinking workshops, dive into the authentic world of empathy through Ethnographic Field Studies. Gain insights into the lives and experiences of users to drive innovation.

  7. Critical Mindsets and Skillsets: Cultivate the mindsets and skillsets essential for Design Thinkers. Explore the mindset shifts required to embrace Design Thinking 2.0 and the practical skills that facilitate its application.

Course Format: The course combines hands-on activities, group discussions, and user research techniques. Participants will engage in practical exercises that simulate real-world scenarios. In short we’ll do Design Thinking!

  2. Defining “Right Problem”: Right Features to MDP or minimum desirable product.
  3. Critical mindsets and skillsets for Design Thinkers – systems thinking, inclusion, and more…
  4. Creating 3D profiles of your audience/ needs/ solution map.
  5. Facilitating your Design Thinking workshop for Agile teams.
